Ways to Give…

  • Corporate Donation Matching

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions completed by their employees. The impact of your gift to the Northwest Trek Foundation may be doubled or possibly tripled - ask your employer about this possibility.

  • David E. Ellis conservation fund

    Honoring Dave’s dream.

Dave Ellis served as leader of Northwest Trek Wildlife Park for 28 years. He dedicated his professional life to the dream of Dr. David and Connie Hellyer – studying native animals and habitats to teach people about the vital relationship between humans and animals in the outdoors.

This restricted fund is held in honor of Dave Ellis and his unwavering commitment to Northwest Trek. Funds support species recovery, animal health care and animal facilities.

  • Greatest Need

    Help us help animals.

“Greatest Need” gifts allow the park to add new programs and exhibits, upgrade old ones, buy equipment and increase conservation and education efforts. Past gifts have purchased special play balls for the cats and puzzle toys for wetlands animals that stimulate natural behavior.

You can give by cash or check, non-cash or in-kind gifts. Unrestricted gifts are the most useful, allowing us to quickly allocate the donation to wherever it is most needed.

  • Tributes & Memorials

The only limit is your imagination.

Celebrate and remember a friend, family member or loved one by making a special gift in his or her name, supporting park conservation or education. The names of those honored or memorialized with any size gift are listed throughout the year on our Donor Thank-You page.

    Leave your legacy.

Interested in planned giving? Northwest Trek has an endowment fund through The Greater Tacoma Community Foundation, created to supplement visitor revenue with a steady source of income for the park.

It also receives estate donations, bequests, charitable annuities and remainder trusts.

  • Animal Enrichment

    Caring for mind and body.

Animal enrichment is a vital part of animal care: It creates a more stimulating environment while encouraging natural behaviors. Keepers at Northwest Trek offer activities that challenge our animals, with environmental stimulation and physical and mental exercise. Enrichment is as essential to animal health and well-being as proper nutrition or medical care and helps to provide a better overall quality of life.

  • Online Wildlife Academy

    Bringing wildlife into classrooms.

Online Wildlife Academy brings Northwest Trek wildlife into K-5 home classrooms – anywhere in the world. Using video call technology, our educators can chat with students, introducing animals via video to make wildlife learning an incredible experience that meets national science standards.

Your donations can make this experience possible.
